    Welcome to the 3rd race of the 2017 Cairns MTB Downhill series

    The race will be held on the newly rebuilt Nationals Track.
    This track is suited to both DH bikes and enduro/trail bikes.
    SO if you’re thinking about giving downhill a go, now is the perfect time!

    Event format

    Practice from 8:30-11:00
    Racing from 11:30
    Best of 2 race runs will decide the winner

    ###NOTE ALL JUNIORS MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN PRESENT FOR THE DURATION OF PRACTICE AND THE RACE RUNS###

    $50 Entry Fee

    Plate collection from 8am Sunday morning

    Practice from 8.30am

    Racing from 11.30am
    Event will be all wrapped up by 1:30-2:00pm

    Food and drinks will be available for sale.

    A commissaire will be at the event – if you do not adhere to the clothing regulations (which are listed below) you will not be allowed to compete. This applies to all age groups –  No refund policy applies

    JUNIORS – ALL JUNIORS RACING DOWNHILL, MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN PRESENT ON THE DAY WHILE PRACTICE AND RACING IS HAPPENING, ANY JUNIOR WITHOUT A PARENT OR GUARDIAN PRESENT WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO RACE – NO REFUND 

    You must be a current member of an MTBA affiliated club

    All entrants must be an active member of an MTBA affiliated club. If you are not a member please join during the registration process. Annual Membership of Cairns Mountain Bike Club Inc – $30.00  All entrants must have MTBA Day Licence Fee for an additional $25.00 plus club membership or an annual MTBA Licence for $76.00 Junior and $110.00 Senior plus club membership.

    THE FOLLOWING MTBA CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS WILL BE ENFORCED FOR DOWNHILL EVENT 

    3.6.3. Downhill and Four cross clothing requirements

    3.6.3.1.Full-face helmets with a fixed non-detachable mouth-piece are mandatory at all MTBA sanctioned events.

    3.6.3.2.A jersey or shirt covering the elbows must be worn as a minimum, or elbow guards expressly designed for off road cycling.

    3.6.3.3.Knees must be covered by full-length trousers and/or self-fastening knee or knee/shin guards expressly designed for off-road cycling.

    3.6.3.4.MTBA strongly recommends the use of the following;

    3.6.3.5.Neck brace expressly designed for off-road cycling.

    3.6.3.6.Back and shoulder protection expressly designed for the purpose.

    3.6.3.7.Full finger gloves

    3.6.3.8.Elbow protectors and/or long sleeve jersey to the elbow.

    3.6.3.9.Goggles expressly designed for the purpose.
