Location: Smithfield Mountain Bike Park (Course 2)
Host Club: Cairns Mountain Bike Club
Registration entries open from the 21st January up until 12.00PM (midday) the day prior to the start of the event.
Course Distance: 5.80km (plus the start loop of 1.5km to be used on the first lap)
Climbing: 140m per lap
Course Description: Round 5, the final round of the 2019 XC series will be once again held at the Smithfield Mountain Bike, home of the 2017 MTB World Championships. It is a different course to round 4, with a mix of old and new Green and Blue level trails.
Racing will start with a 1.5km start loop, then a quick blast around VeMass, before venturing into the awesome centipede climb and descent. Next up is the classic Wobbegong loop and back out onto the ring road. Then a chance to really spin the legs out on the climb up the downhill access road to the always fun Cuss Cuss descent. Cross the creek onto flat snake and take the green link trail before pines. The back onto the main trail and across the creek again and onto Greenfields back to the start / finish line.
Location: The race will be held at the Smithfield Mountain Bike Park World Cup Venue at the back of JCU.

Presentations: 12:00PM will include race and series presentations
Prizes: The final round will include random prizes as well as the end of series prize draws of two entries to the 2019 Reef to Reef and a full entry to the Crocodile Trophy. As well as podium glory for Round 5, we will hold the end of series presentations with a generous prize pool thanks to our series sponsor Prime Constructions. Points for the series at the end of Round 4 can be found here.
• The format for each race will be XCO (Cross Country Olympic) with course distances and times as close to regulations as practical.
• The series will consist of 5 rounds, with points awarded for each round. The winner will be the highest points after 5 rounds.
• To be eligible for an overall podium, riders must complete at least 2 rounds of the series
• General Rules for the series will be following the Mountain Bike Australia (MTBA) Technical Regulations: Club / Regional Level Events (1 July 2018)

$11 for Under 13, 15 and 17
The following race categories will be used for the 2019 series. These are a change to previous years and in line with the latest MTBA technical regulations Ages for all categories will be determined as at 31st May 2019. This will ensure you can race the same category for all races in the series.
Results for each event will be published on Race Result website at my.raceresult.com. Live Timing may be available during a race, depending on mobile coverage at the race venue. The format of the published results will include:

2. Results with Lap Times
3. Individual Lap Records
Series Results will be published separately and updated prior to the start of each round.
