Gravitate 2015 is now done and dusted, after another awesome event on the revamped Nationals DH Track. Great to see A huge turnout of riders with plenty of the 30+ crew out there, reliving the glory days of DH racing. The course was expected to see some fast times, and 15 of the 50 riders managed to get an impressive sub 3.00 minute race time.
The winner on the day was Adrian Dawson in an unbelievable 2:40.88, with Berend Boer just 2.5 seconds back 2:43.40 in 2nd place and wrapping up the Elite Male category was Jordan Payn in a 2:48.98
Christel Dall’ozzo took the win in Elite Female with a 3:19.22, with Jacinta Pink just over 15 second back in 2nd with a 3:34.58. In the hotly contested 30+ club, John Simpson overcame a first run disaster with a crash and a DNF, to steal the win from Grant Cooper by 0.3 of a second. John posted a 2:54.98 for 1st, with Grant at 2:55.32 for second and Jeremy Watts rounding out the podium for third with a 2:56.20
Ashley Gosley took the win in the Under 15 with a very respectable 3:19.54 and Dylan McKenzie won Under 17 in 2:48.97 in a time that had him third fastest for the day.

As we sign off from Gravitate 2015, remember that next weekend is a double header with the Crocodile Trophy starting Stage 1 at Smithfield at 12:00PM on Saturday and the National Gravity Enduro Championships kicking off with a Prologue starting at Palm Cove from 2.00PM. Racing for the Gravity Enduro starts around 8.00AM on Sunday on 5 gruelling stages of the Smithfield Mountain Bike Park.
